Crows are omnivorous and their diet is very diverse. They will eat almost anything, including other birds; fruits; nuts; molluscs; earthworms; seeds; frogs; eggs; nestlings; mice and carrion. More prevalent now on the fringes of suburbia than in a rural setting, the birds are often seen lingering atop the local canopy, awaiting an opportune moment to scavenge a discarded donut or chip. Crows are considered to be among the world’s most intelligent animals – their brain-to-body ratio is equivalent to that of an ape.
